President Bola Tinubu yesterday asked the Senate to confirm Dr. Ruby Onwudiwe, as a member of the board of directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Onwudiwe serves as a replacement for Dr. Orum Kalu Eke, who declined the nomination citing his professional commitments to other financial institutions including the World Bank. President Tinubu’s request was contained in a letter addressed to the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and read during plenary. The President, in the letter, said the confirmation request complied with provisions of section 10, sub-section 1 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Establishment Act, 2007.
