Nigerian comedian and gospel entertainer Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and his associate, Olamide Oladimeji, known as Dele Omo Woli, have warned that they may take legal action against people spreading allegations linking them to the death of gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.
Their lawyers, Gemgold Solicitors, issued a public notice dated 23 October 2026, describing the allegations as false, unsupported and defamatory.
The legal representatives warned that anyone who created, published or circulated the claims could face legal consequences, including damages and court orders prohibiting further publication.
The solicitors also called on social media users, bloggers and other publishers to take down the disputed content and stop sharing allegations that have not been verified. They stressed that reposting claims from anonymous accounts does not automatically protect individuals from potential legal liability.
The dispute follows the death of Toluwanisings, whose family announced that the gospel singer died in the early hours of 14 October 2026. According to reports, the family had not disclosed the circumstances surrounding his death.
Following reports of the singer’s death, Woli Agba had appealed publicly for prayers, expressing hope that a miracle might occur. He also defended Dele Omo Woli after the latter faced criticism over a video showing him mourning their colleague and friend.
The warning comes amid concerns about the spread of unverified allegations on social media, particularly claims involving public figures and sensitive personal matters.
As of 26 October 2026, available reports had not established that Woli Agba and Dele Omo Woli had filed a lawsuit against any specific person over the allegations.
Their legal representatives have urged members of the public to verify information before sharing it, exercise restraint online and respect both the dignity of the deceased and the reputations of those named in the disputed claims.
