President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the National Assembly to consider and pass a new Bill regarding new salaries and allowances for the nation’s judicial officers. In a letter read by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas at yesterday’s plenary, the president said the Bill aims to improve salaries and allowances as well as other benefits for judicial officers. There has been an agitation for an improvement in the salaries, allowances, and another welfare package of Nigeria’s judicial officers, prompting the President to promise an improvement to the welfare payments of judicial officers. The Executive Bill forwarded by the President is titled: “A Bill for An Act to Prescribe the Salaries, Allowances and Fringe Benefits of Judicial Office Holders in Nigeria and for Related Matters.”
