Nigeria is aiming to begin delivering natural gas to Abuja by July through the long-awaited Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) pipeline, in what officials describe as a major step forward for the country’s energy and industrial ambitions.
The update was provided by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, which said progress on the project has reached a stage where initial gas flows to the capital are now within sight.

Once operational, the pipeline is expected to transport gas from the southern production hubs to northern demand centres, including Abuja.
