The Presidential Panel on Social Investment Programmes has recommended the removal of intervention initiatives from the purview of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. According to news reports, the panel led by the minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun, sent its recommendation to President Bola Tinubu. The panel recommended that the programs be resumed to alleviate the sufferings of the poor and vulnerable Nigerians, however, advised that a new board under the leadership of Edun be given oversight function in administering the social investment programs.
