Following the five-day first stage of the disconnection of 42 million Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards on 28 February 2024, telecom operators (Telcos) will commence another round of SIM disconnection on Good Friday, 29 March, one of the days marking the Easter holidays and April 15. A source from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), confirmed that the next round of disconnection would be massive as several subscribers have not been able to link their SIM cards to their National Identification Number (NIN). The source also said the disconnection exercise would, however, aid in addressing several anomalies in the NIN enrolment and NIN-SIM linkage exercises.
