President Bola Tinubu has appointed Brig.-Gen. Lawal Ja’afar Isa (rtd.) as the chairman of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education. The President also appointed Dr. Idris Muhammad Sani as the new executive secretary and chief executive officer. Isa had been the commission’s Executive Secretary/CEO before his elevation. A statement last night by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said President Tinubu urged the new appointees to deploy their skills and vast experiences in their new roles. General Ja’afar Isa was the military administrator of Kaduna State from 1993 to 1996. Dr. Muhammad Sani on the other hand, holds an MA degree and a PhD in Islamic Studies. He was the director-general, of Al-Iman School Lafia; Commissioner of basic/Secondary Education, Yobe State; chairman, of Nigerian Arabic Language Village, Borno State; Member, of the Nasarawa State Government Committee on Enlightenment Campaign, and secretary-general, of the Association of Private Schools in Nasarawa State.
