Nigerian singer-songwriter Simi has released another album, “Lost and Found”, a 14-track LP referenced as a personal project that explores themes of self-discovery, love, and the empowerment of women.
Simi has said regarding her new record, “This album is about me just reconnecting with joy, my passion for music. I want to give people a sense of nostalgia which I hope comes through as they listen”.
The album features artists such as Asa, Lojay, chief commander Ebenezer Obey, and Ladipoe.
The record is generating a good response from Simi’s fans and those are getting to know her brand of music for the first time with two released singles, “Men Are Crazy” and “Borrow Me Your Baby (BMYB)”.
The album features other tracks like “Woman to Woman”, an ode to women empowerment, a cause believed to be significant to Simi.
She puts again on display her storytelling skillfulness in the song “Borrow Me Your Baby” with Falz an always-defining pairing that could likely strike the unique cord they do with fans when they partner on a song as other hits before.
She collaborates with a legendary artist and jùjú music maestro, chief commander Ebenezer Obey on “Jowo”, sampling his classic hit, and puts a new spin to the 2020 hit song “Know You II” featuring Ladipoe.
Simi’s new LP” is a collection of songs that is true-to-form in Simi’s penchant for myriad shades of love-themed music however, she also explores new sounds and dynamics that make her uniquely ‘Simi’ and one of the country’s music industry’s finest.
