Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly expressed the intense emotional distress she is experiencing due to her separation from her two sons, Prince Munir Nwoko (Moon) and Prince Khalifa Nwoko (Kharly), amid an ongoing custody dispute with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
Her statement, shared on social media, underscores the anguish she feels as a mother:
“People may believe that I am happy, but no mother can be at peace while separated from her children. I chose not to allow that pain to define or imprison me, which is why it took time for me to walk away.”1
The emotional public plea comes as the dispute with Senator Nwoko, the father of her children, continues in the media and the courts.
| Regina Daniels’ Claims | Senator Ned Nwoko’s Counter-Claims |
| Separation: Has not been allowed to speak to her children since mid-November 2025. | The children have not been denied access; her prolonged absence is a matter of her choice. |
| Custody Battle: Nwoko has filed for full custody despite the children already being in his care. | The issue of access is tied to a court-mandated rehabilitation directive and not an arbitrary restriction. |
| False Accusations: Nwoko dismissed her nannies and allegedly pressured them into making false statements about her having a drug/alcohol problem. | A court has directed that she must undergo drug rehabilitation and be assessed by the Abuja Social Welfare Department before access can be restored. |
| Public Exposure: Criticized Nwoko for repeatedly posting the children online, calling it a “troubling and deliberate pursuit of negative attention.” | Argued that posting the children publicly has always been a shared family tradition, and she is only objecting now due to the current legal dispute. |
The issue of custody and access is reportedly now before the courts. Senator Nwoko maintains that the primary reason for the restricted access is to ensure the children’s well-being and emotional health, arguing that a stable and sober parent is in the children’s best interest.
In her post, the actress affirmed her identity as a devoted mother and vowed to fight for her sons, stating, “I may be young, but I am such a mum, I enjoy being a mum, and I miss being a mum. It’s so crazy if their father thinks I won’t come for my children. I will definitely see my kids soon!”
