The Director General of the Directorate of Mobilization and Integration for the Labour Party (LP), Marcel Ngogbehei, has cautioned members of the party and the Obidient movement to refrain from actions that could create divisions within their ranks, warning that such disunity could undermine their ability to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The LP chieftain in a New Year message urged party faithful and supporters of the Obidient movement to prioritize unity, emphasizing that only a consolidated and highly integrated opposition can effectively dislodge the APC from power. He underscored the importance of strengthening internal cohesion as the party intensifies its efforts to achieve a better Nigeria.
Ngogbehei described 2025 as the “Year of Unveiling,” a pivotal period for the Labour Party to transform its vision into actionable plans while inspiring Nigerians to rally behind the movement. He urged members to keep the fire of hope alive and maintain steadfastness in their collective mission to build a united, equitable, and prosperous nation.
Acknowledging the challenges ahead, he called on members to set aside personal differences and focus on the broader goal of rescuing Nigeria from inefficiency and charting a new path forward. He emphasized that the party’s strength lies in its ability to work together under the guiding principles of integrity, equity, and justice.
Ngogbehei reiterated the importance of deepening collaboration and integration within the party and across the movement, urging all stakeholders to remain committed as they build momentum for the milestones ahead. He concluded with a rallying call for collective action to achieve the dream of a better Nigeria.

“However, I must address a crucial matter: Those who sow seeds of discord within the Obidient movement must pause and have a rethink. Divisions weaken our resolve, dilute our strength, and play into the hands of those who have no interest in the people’s welfare.
“Only a consolidated, highly integrated, and united opposition can dislodge the APC from power in 2027.
“We need every voice, every heart, and every thumbprint to achieve this. To the faithful across all states and beyond, I urge you all to keep the fire of hope burning, to remain steadfast in our shared purpose, and to inspire others with the same passion and vision.
