The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of examination slip printing for candidates registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), marking a key step ahead of the nationwide test.
In a statement shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, the board confirmed that candidates can now access and print their examination slips online.
According to JAMB, the slip contains essential details including the candidate’s examination venue, date, and time, and is mandatory for entry into the examination hall.
“This is to notify you that examination slip printing is now available,” the board said, urging candidates to act promptly.
The 2026 UTME is scheduled to hold between April 16 and April 25, with candidates expected to familiarize themselves with their assigned centres ahead of time to avoid last-minute confusion.
How to print your UTME examination slip
JAMB provided a simple process for candidates to retrieve their slips:
- Visit the official JAMB website: www.jamb.gov.ng
- Click on “2026 UTME Slip Printing”
- Enter your registration number
- Download and print your examination slip
Candidates are advised to print multiple copies and keep them safe, as they will be required on the examination day.
Board dismisses postponement rumours
The announcement comes amid misinformation circulating about a possible postponement of the examination. JAMB firmly dismissed the claim, describing it as false and misleading.
“Our attention has been drawn to a malicious press release alleging that the 2026 UTME has been postponed. We wish to state clearly that the notice is fake and did not emanate from the board,” the statement read.
The board reassured candidates that all arrangements remain on track as scheduled.
Admission benchmarks and eligibility
Meanwhile, JAMB also reiterated key decisions from its recent policy meeting regarding admission criteria for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The approved minimum scores are:
- 150 for universities
- 140 for colleges of nursing
- 100 for polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of education, colleges of agriculture, and innovation enterprise institutions
In addition, the minimum age requirement for admission into tertiary institutions remains 16 years.
As the examination window approaches, candidates are encouraged to stay informed through official JAMB channels and avoid relying on unverified sources.
