The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025 ceremony, held in Doha, Qatar, saw French star Ousmane Dembélé and Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmatí claim the top individual prizes in men’s and women’s football, respectively.
Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and France was crowned The Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2025. The 28-year-old attacker was instrumental in leading Paris Saint-Germain to their first-ever UEFA Champions League title, alongside a domestic treble.
This award completes a prestigious individual double for Dembélé, who also won the Ballon d’Or earlier in September.
Dembélé was recognized for his explosive pace, creativity, and his successful adaptation to a more central, clinical role in PSG’s attack under coach Luis Enrique (who won The Best Men’s Coach award).
Aitana Bonmatí of FC Barcelona and Spain was voted The Best FIFA Women’s Player for 2025. This is Bonmatí’s third consecutive victory in the category, extending a period of dominance for both herself and FC Barcelona in the awards.
The midfield maestro was central to Barcelona winning a domestic treble (Liga F, Copa de la Reina, and Supercopa de España Femenina) during the 2024/2025 season.
Despite her teams finishing as runners-up in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the UEFA Women’s EURO, Bonmatí was named the Player of the Season/Tournament in both competitions, confirming her status as the best and most consistent performer in the women’s game.
